Activities
Excursions, extracurricular and non-affiliated activities
All classes participate in an introduction period at the beginning of the school year. During this introduction, first-year students get to know their mentor, the class, the teachers, and the building. In the other years, students also meet their mentor and fellow students (insofar as they are new). At the end of the course, some year groups have a concluding day excursion. The parental contribution for this depends on the planned activities.
Green weeks
Throughout the school year, we organize various other activities, such as theater visits, authors visiting the school, fieldwork for biology, visits to a university of applied sciences or university, information sessions by bureau HALT, and a music evening.
The different activities are clustered on several days and organized for the entire school, the so-called “green weeks.” In this way, we try to limit class cancellations during regular weeks as much as possible.
Activities/excursions upper grades
The work week
In the fourth year, we organize a work week. We expect all students to participate. The work week is part of the curriculum. The students come into contact with the history, language, and culture of the respective country. The excursion is a component of the educational program.
Activities
The pre-university (vwo) students with an NT/NG profile go to the University of Göttingen during year 6 for a special program with practicals in chemistry and biology. As part of the physical education subject in mavo 4 and in the upper years of havo and vwo, there are several elective activities. These activities take place outside of school. The cost for this is €30.00. For the subjects LO2 and BSM, additional sports activities are organized.
Cultural and artistic education
As part of the subject cultural and artistic education (CKV), a number of activities are mandatory. Some of these activities take place during the foreign excursion for 4 havo and 4 vwo. The parental contribution includes an amount for the CJP card, which is used to partially pay for these activities. Students can also use this CJP card for various other performances and discounts, for example at shops and at the cinema.
Bilingual education
Specific extracurricular activities are included in the programme for bilingual education (TTO), and the costs for these activities are covered by the TTO programme fee. The organisation of all activities within the TTO department is coordinated by a TTO coordinator.
