Motto

The motto of Groene Hart is ‘Push your boundaries’. By this, we mean that we want to help our students develop themselves. The same applies to our staff. When you develop yourself, you encounter your boundaries. You discover what is still difficult and what requires attention. To continue developing, you need to push your boundaries. In addition, you need to discover your qualities and talents. This can be done in many ways, and therefore requires an organization that offers flexibility.

We believe it is important that our students realize they are part of a greater whole. In addition, from our Christian perspective, we pay a lot of attention to treating each other with love. That is why we have chosen education divided into a common core program, supplemented by a more individually tailored addition to the curriculum.

Vision 2020 - 2024

Before we formulated a vision that fits Groene Hart now and in the future, we first looked back at the past four school years. What developments have we undergone? What still requires attention, and what will we take with us into the future? Next, together with the team, we determined how we want to interact with each other, with the students, and with their parents. We also decided what we want to offer our students in terms of pedagogy and education. We are a school with a Christian identity. Our vision is therefore based on Christian values. In addition, our overarching organization, the Association for Christian Secondary Education (CVO), has provided us with pillars on which we can build our school plan. We have also incorporated the principles of the Portus school group into this school plan. In our vision, we work with the core values of trust, guidance, opportunities, flexibility, and resilience. These values are central to our Christian identity and our pedagogical approach.

Vision Groene Hart

The changing world in which our young people grow up requires a flexible attitude and resilience. We see the student's confidence in their own abilities and potential as the most important prerequisite for these life skills, and we encourage this confidence.

Guidance

Our pedagogical vision means that we guide students in the process towards independence, encouraging them to take a step further each time. In our student guidance, we invest in building a good relationship with the student. We are convinced that a growth mindset is the foundation for development. Every child essentially has the potential to grow and a drive to learn and develop. We want to preserve and stimulate this.

Flexibility

Our vision on education is that we do justice to all students and help them develop purposefully according to their own abilities. In addition to a solid foundation, we offer all students a flexible layer that can be adapted to the learning needs of the student. In doing so, we focus not only on knowledge development, but also on personal development and the development of skills.

Trust

From our open Christian identity, we believe it is important that every person is seen and that we treat each other with love and forgiveness. Everyone who can identify with our principles is welcome and will be welcomed. Mutual trust is the foundation for this.

Opportunities

Pushing your boundaries is our starting point. Pushing boundaries gives the student freedom within the set frameworks, but also responsibility; the student is ultimately responsible for their own development. This principle is visible throughout the school in the educational offerings, the range of activities, the didactic climate, personnel policy, and the pedagogical climate.

Resilience

At Groene Hart, we prepare our students for their further education. During the years that students spend at our school, they encounter various challenges and boundaries. We believe it is important not to remove these obstacles for the students, but to teach them how to deal with these challenges. This skill is necessary to take a meaningful place in society. In this way, we encourage students in the learning process towards becoming (global) citizens and also contribute to their personal development.
