Application Projects Portus Groene Hart

Last Tuesday, the successful VWO application project once again concluded at Portus Groene Hart. For this Dutch school exam, the exam candidates could apply for existing job vacancies. As preparation, they had attended a workshop on writing application letters including CVs and participated in role-playing exercises.

On Tuesday evening, more than fifty volunteers were present to take part in one of the thirteen application committees and conduct interviews. After all the interviews, the committees announced which student would have gotten the job and everyone received feedback that could be useful in the future. The evening ended with a pleasant social gathering.

The committee members, as is tradition, had a very diverse background: from HR manager to board secretary at the municipality of Barendrecht, and from (former) chief inspector of police to IT specialist. Of course, Groene Hart is very grateful to all the volunteers for their efforts.

Inholland University of Applied Sciences has also contributed once again through supportive activities and participation in the project itself. Portus Groene Hart and Inholland are eager to maintain their collaboration.

The mavo exam candidates also participated in a job application project last week, albeit in a slightly different format. The mavo students also look back on a very successful experience. The havo students had already completed the project successfully in December. The school is therefore very proud of all its final exam candidates and believes it is important that students are prepared not only for their diploma but also for their future.
