Explore Your Boundaries Program Launched
On October 1st, the Explore-Your-Boundaries program for 8th grade students started again. In this program, eighth graders with a pre-university or higher general secondary education recommendation are introduced to the subjects of biology and economics in a challenging way. They can also improve their English language skills and, after completing the lessons at Portus Groene Hart, take an Aglia exam.
In biology, the students started by observing a water flea under the microscope and investigating the effect of different liquids on its heartbeat. In the second week, dissecting an eye was on the agenda. Biology teacher, Mr. Westerhof, conducts all these challenging practical lessons.
The participating primary school students are very enthusiastic. Some even indicated after just two weeks that they could see themselves attending Groene Hart in the first year of secondary school next year.
